2 Grace Court Aly
2 Grace Court Alley, a historic carriage house located on one of the very few streets in NYC that are filled almost exclusively with mid-19th century carriage houses. Built between the Civil War and the turn-of-the-century, the alley and house itself were created during the pre-automobile era and gives a glimpse of how life might have looked during that time. A private cul-de-sac, few cars or pedestrians ever traverse it and nary a second glance is given when on their way to Remsen and Montague Streets (located one and two blocks north) and the entrance to the Brooklyn Promenade. The charm of this block has been maintained in part due to the efforts of the Brooklyn Heights Association and its location in the first designated historic district in New York City.
